Nervous patients
Nervous patients are given complete control of their appointment with us, right down to the music being played in the background
If you dread a visit to the dentist, you’re not alone. In fact, it is estimated that around 75% of the British population have some form of dental fear, with 10% of individuals suffering from odontophobia; a complete terror of visiting the dentist.
At Densmile Dental Care you have nothing to worry about. We appreciate that many dentists claim to be the one to rid you of your fears, but at our practice you are in complete charge of your appointment, and able to take it at your own speed.
The first thing that will happen when you come to see us is…nothing. Our friendly dentist Dr Mulgund will invite you to sit with him – somewhere other than a consultation room if you wish – to have an informal chat about your concerns. You will never be asked to sit in the dental chair until you’re ready, and during this time you will be able to discuss your fears and what causes them.
Next, you may like to bring some of your favourite music along with you to be played in the background during your appointment. Lots of patients have found this relaxing while they are with us, and our team like the varied song choices too!
Should you feel able to proceed to the next step and have your teeth and gums examined, you will be given complete control over the process. Dr Mulgund will ask you to raise your hand at any time if you need him to stop, and he will always ensure you are 100% happy before he continues with your check-up.
Finally, if you are a new patient of ours Dr Mulgund will provide you with some relaxation exercises to take home and practice in time for your next visit to see us.
Our promise to you
At Densmile Dental Care we guarantee all of our patients that they will experience no pain during their procedures. As well as administering numbing gel before any injections, Dr Mulgund asks all patients to raise their hand if they are experiencing any discomfort at any point. He will then stop what he is doing and won’t start again until you are completely happy. Where necessary, he will provide additional local anaesthetic. However, if you are still experiencing discomfort after all endeavours, the treatment can be suspended and re-arranged if needs be.
