Dentures
We fit all types of denture so you’re guaranteed to find an option that suits you
Dentures, or ‘false teeth’, are often associated with the elderly due to the fact the ageing process can often lead to the loss of teeth. However, thanks to advancements in the dental industry, today dentures come in a variety of shapes, sizes and materials, which means they can be worn by just about anybody.
When it comes to dentures it’s important to first identify whether you will require a partial option – to replace one or two missing teeth – or a complete option, which is a solution for those who have lost all or most of their teeth. Your dentist will then discuss the different types of partial and complete dentures with you, to help you find the option best suited to your needs.
At Densmile Dental Care we know just how upsetting it can be to lose teeth. It is for that reason our dentist Dr Mulgund has made it his mission to be able to fit a wide range of dentures so that you’re guaranteed to leave us with a solution that looks and feels natural.
Flexi Dentures
Flexi dentures are fast becoming a very popular choice. The artificial teeth are attached to a flexible, metal-free, gum coloured base which is held in place by the gums and remaining
Acrylic Dentures
Acrylic dentures are a favoured choice for those who are cost-sensitive. They’re made from a soft pink plastic that is supported by the gums. However, patients who only require partial dentures may find that their fittings feature metal clips or clasps (to simply hold them in place).
As well as offering a more affordable choice, acrylic dentures are recommended for those who only require them temporarily, and for patients who require something to cover up a gap on the same day they have a tooth extracted.
Finally, acrylic dentures are able to stand general wear and tear, and also require no more upkeep than real teeth.
teeth. Due to the lack of wires and the flesh coloured appearance, the flexi denture boasts a natural appearance that will have even your closest friends and family convinced you have your very own teeth.
As well as looking great, flexi dentures boast great grip, are comfortable to wear and easy to get used to. Additionally, because they are close fitting, they’re almost impossible to break and require very little muscle control resulting in very minimal aching during the first few weeks of use.
Cobalt Chrome Dentures
Cobalt chrome dentures are generally suitable for those who have a certain amount of remaining natural teeth. This is because the artificial teeth are attached to a base plate framework that sits around them.
Due to the fact these dentures are held in place by your remaining teeth, their stability and retention depend on where the remaining teeth are actually positioned.
Benefits of cobalt chrome dentures include the fact they’re extremely comfortable to wear (probably the most comfortable), and the easiest to get used to. Additionally, they are extremely close fitting, very hygienic and smaller, thinner and stronger than most other options.
Implant restorations
If you have a gap in your smile you may have decided to have an implant – a fixed titanium root with an artificial (porcelain) tooth fitted to it (this is called a crown). Some say that an implant is the closest you will get to having a natural tooth in your mouth again.
At Densmile Dental Care, our dentist Dr Mulgund has a wealth of experience and can give you a range of options when it comes to fitting patients with their new implant crown (or bridge if you are replacing more than one missing tooth). Additionally, should your implant crown or bridge ever become cracked or damaged, he is able to offer solutions for these problems too.
Our promise to you
At Densmile Dental Care we guarantee all of our patients that they will experience no pain during their procedures. As well as administering numbing gel before any injections, Dr Mulgund asks all patients to raise their hand if they are experiencing any discomfort at any point. He will then stop what he is doing and won’t start again until you are completely happy. Where necessary, he will provide additional local anaesthetic. However, if you are still experiencing discomfort after all endeavours, the treatment can be suspended and re-arranged if needs be.
