General Dentistry
Our very own dentist Dr Mulgund carries out all general dentistry treatments in-house
When it comes to your dental health it’s extremely important you’re brushing and flossing your teeth twice a day, and that you’re visiting a dentist once a year too. However, during your annual (or bi-annual) trip to see us, what happens if your dentist spots a potential problem?
At Densmile Dental Care, if Dr Mulgund recommends that you receive a general treatment you have nothing to worry about. As well as having the owner of our practice himself performing your procedure in-house, we offer a no pain guarantee.
Fillings
Gone are the days of unsightly grey metal (mercury) fillings to repair gaps and cracks in teeth. Instead, say hello to composite and porcelain options that can be matched to the colour of your original teeth.
Crowns
A crown is a ceramic ‘cap’ which is simply applied to a damaged or worn tooth to restore its appearance. As well as being designed to look like a tooth, crowns can be colour matched to the rest of your teeth.
Crowns can be used for a number of reasons such as restoring damaged, fractured or broken teeth, replacing large fillings, attaching bridges and covering implant and root canal treatments.
Bridges
Similarly to crowns, bridges offer fixed solutions for one or more missing teeth. They are anchored into place by the remaining teeth either side of a gap and act as a support for the new artificial tooth or teeth. Again, bridges can be colour matched to your natural teeth.
Composite bonding
If you have gaps in your teeth, or are concerned about their alignment, composite bonding may be the solution. Composite bonding allows gaps in the teeth to be filled quickly and
efficiently without the need for braces, drilling or crowns. It is often referred to as ‘instant orthodontics,’ but without the price tag to match!
Root canal treatment
Root canal treatment is required when the ‘pulp’ inside a tooth becomes infected due to injury or decay. The infection can cause damage to the nerve in the root canal and if left to develop, the nerve can die and become extremely painful.
Treatment involves the root canal being cleaned out, disinfected and sealed to prevent any bacteria re-entering in the future. This procedure is generally carried out under local anaesthetic.
Please note: You are strongly recommended to book an appointment with Dr Mulgund should you ever damage one of your teeth. In most cases, if infection is identified early enough, there may be no need for root canal treatment.
Hygienist appointments
While it is your dentist’s job to ensure that your teeth are healthy, a hygienist will be able to deep clean them for you which ultimately means you should have them for longer. A scale and polish is a routine, painless procedure that you are recommended to have to remove any plaque build-up and reduce your chances of gum disease.
As well as providing scale and polish treatments, a hygienist is also able to advise you about how to care for your teeth properly in-between visits to the dentist. They will also inform you about the foods and drinks you should be avoiding and answer any questions you have regarding your tooth and gum care.

Dentures
Often referred to as ‘false teeth,’ dentures are a popular choice for replacing missing teeth, especially amongst those who have lost teeth due to ageing. However, it’s not just the elderly that can benefit from dentures, but almost anyone.
Dentures can be used to replace one or more missing teeth. Complete dentures provide a solution for those who have lost the majority (or all) of their teeth, whereas partial dentures are designed for those who simply have a gap in their smile.
Today, dentures come in a number of shapes, sizes, colours and materials which means there is a solution for just about everyone. At Densmile Dental Care we are proud to offer a number of different types of denture, including the popular flexi-denture, and chrome cobalt options.

Our promise to you
At Densmile Dental Care we guarantee all of our patients that they will experience no pain during their procedures. As well as administering numbing gel before any injections, Dr Mulgund asks all patients to raise their hand if they are experiencing any discomfort at any point. He will then stop what he is doing and won’t start again until you are completely happy. Where necessary, he will provide additional local anaesthetic. However, if you are still experiencing discomfort after all endeavours, the treatment can be suspended and re-arranged if needs be.
